Seamless pipes are crafted without any welding seams. They’re made by heating a cylindrical steel bar to high temperatures and piercing it to form a hollow tube. Welded pipes, on the other hand, are created by rolling and welding a steel plate. These are commonly referred to as Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) or Electric Fusion Welding (EFW), with welds smoothed out by a scarfing blade.
Carbon steel or so called black pipes, uncoated and ungalvanized, derive their dark color from the iron-oxide layer formed during manufacturing. Primarily used to transport propane or natural gas in homes and commercial buildings, black pipes differ from galvanized pipes, which are zinc-coated for enhanced corrosion resistance—making them ideal for scaffolding frames.
A steel flange is a forged or cast ring, cut or rolled from steel plates, designed to connect or join mechanical sections of pipe to equipment like pressure vessels, pumps, valves, and other flange-mounted accessories. Typically, stub ends, bolts, and nuts are used to assemble flanges, which are essential in piping systems (And we also supply that!).
